Not when you have to study and memorize more things than you would for math or work long hours at a hospital. Not to mention, have to pay a **** ton of cash to get into school.

I started my nursing degree two weeks ago and it is NOT basic at all. It is literally one the of the most useful degrees/majors you can have. It gives you the skill set to do anything you want.

When I went to school, many people struggled to get classes cos people who were just there to warm up the seat were taking up someone who really wanted to help others's spot.

Seethe at English lit I'll have you know many top lawyers are English/history grads because those degrees at a competitive university equip you with transferable skills applicable to becoming a lawyer, and that's just one example.

I don't have a problem with a nursing degree but if I was to get into the healthcare profession I'd want to be a doctor, don't you feel inferior by being a nurse instead? But I understand many get into it to help people which is understandable.

Why exactly should we feel inferior by being a nurse? They're very different careers. Doctors help diagnose and treat the illness but nurses make sure that the PERSON (not just the illness) is well looked after. And nurses nowadays aren't just stuck to being a "doctors assistant". Nurses can run their own clinics, go into management positions and lots of interesting specialist areas. It's a really exciting career path to be a part of now.

And you can make a lot of money out of nursing if you have the drive and do it right. My mother is a nurse and she works for an agency which pays like 2x the amount that normal nurses make. At one point she was making over £65k a year.

Nurses are an integral part of the medical system so not it's not "basic" and they work hard and don't even get paid that much.

I think dragging degrees is stupid. Getting an education is something to be proud of and takes a lot of hard work regardless of what you do.
