Singer/songwriter Gwen Stefani has added Mattman and Robin to the list of contributors for her upcoming third album.
Other notable credits by Mattman and Robin include Carly Rae Jepsen’s “Run Away With Me” [Interscope], Hailee Steinfeld’s “Love Myself” [Republic], Tove Lo's "Moments" [Island] and Taylor Swift’s “All You Had to Do Was Stay” [Big Machine].
Meanwhile, Stefani is expected to release her next studio collection – featuring singles “Baby Don’t Lie” and “Spark the Fire” – later this year through Mad Love Records and Interscope Records.
The follow-up to 2006’s “The Sweet Escape” reportedly delivers further alliances with Benny Blanco, Julia Michaels, Pharrell, Justin Tranter, Cashmere Cat, Sia, Ryan Tedder, Noel Zancanella, Ryn Weaver, and Greg Kurstin.
I wonder if she has scrapped all the material from 2014? She said in that interview that she just got in the studio in June and has wrote 18 songs so far. I assume that counts the songs from late 2014 right?
She's also working with one of the Good For you writers, Justin Tranter.
Selena spoke about her music in her interview with Time Magazine:
Quote:
You worked with some of the same producers she’s been working with. Have you heard any of her new album?
Yeah, she played me two songs because she’s working with Justin (Tranter) right now, and we kind of bonded over that. I’m like, “I’m obsessed with him,” and she’s like, “I’m obsessed with him.” She looks like she’s in the best place, too, because the way she was even playing the music, that’s how I would be playing the music. I’m so excited for people to hear it. I was really stoked for her because she wanted to do something that wasn’t necessarily all the way left field, she just wanted something really fresh, really different and hooky and cool. I’m like, “Well, you’re cool as hell regardless.”
