Playing Dead is kinda SOTY, slay me Lauren & the Chvrches.
Make Them Gold is also kind of phenomenal, with honourable mentions to Clearest Blue and Never Ending Circles.
Idk it's hard to compare it to their debut. I adore that album since I've had two years of it and it still entertains me as much as it did all that time ago, but honestly both albums are super hit-and-nearlymiss anyway. The Mother We Share, Gun, Tether, Lies, Night Sky, and By the Throat are truly incredible songs, near-masterpieces, yet Under the Tide, Recover, Lungs and the bonus tracks are borderline tragic. Recover is cute I guess but it's super dated compared to the other stuff.
This album is similar imo, I may only be a few listens in but I've already got 5 tracks on repeat and I'm about ready to forget some of the others. Those are the types of tracks which I had similar feelings about with their debut album and even two years later I don't love them much more.
Afterglow. OMG, I listened the album on Spotify today and I have to say that the first half is really stronger than the last half. Afterglow and Keep You On My Side are my faves, and the bonus tracks were so unnecessary, literally the worst of the album.

Omg this album is amazing Every track is good on its own and I can't spot any bad track High Enough to Carry You Over feels like an upgraded Never Gonna Give You Up, a future classic tbh Afterglow feels kinda weak, it's cool though! As I said before, there are not bad songs on the album. The best tracks are Keep You On My Side (I freaking love the verses ), Empty Threat (the bridge & chorus ), Make Them Gold (it's reeeaally cute ) and Bow Down. They need more recognition on ATRL
