What are the standards of seat belts holding their passengers without any physical damage though? It's hard to survive a crash if it was speeding 80-90 miles per hour in an urban community. Also, the car was seldom used making it very vulnerable to malfunctioning when speeding higher than usual.
The point here is, it's the driver's negligence. He should know better with the environment they're driving on and the car they are using. They were having a good time but it was a very poor decision to speed with a car that wasn't driven on often. Not only did this cost their lives but it could've costed lives of innocent people within the vicinity.
