You're right. He's a straight male. There's only so much he can relate in regards to his sexuality. But he's acknowledging that it
is risky for anyone to come out, Hollywood's higher ups will be less likely to pick those gay individuals thanks to stereotypical and outdated stats, and he's openly acknowledging this for it to get better media traction. Would you rather no one care about this issue? That it remain in the shadows, where everyone pretends that there is no bias against gay or lesbian actors?
