FORCES sweetheart DAME VERY LYNN yesterday became the oldest living artist to make it into the top 20 of the UK albums chart - aged 92.
Dame Vera, who kept up the spirits of millions with her songs during World War Two, entered at number 20.
Her album, We'll Meet Again - The Very Best of Vera Lynn, returned her to the charts almost six decades after she topped them in the 1950s.
It overtook albums by U2, Eminem and the Stone Roses.
Dame Vera said: "I am extremely delighted and excited to be back in the charts after all these years."
Her CD was released to coincide with this Thursday's 70-year anniversary of the declaration of war.
A spokeswoman for her record company Decca said: "She's proven that music of this vintage and significance can still resonate with the public."
