His taste is actually really good. He's into so many indie artists. Purity Ring, he was fan of The Weeknd before he was even this famous, Jessie Ware, Paloma Faith, Frank Ocean, James Vincent and many others. His inspirations are Stevie Wonder, Elvis Costello, Presley, etc. If there's something no one can criticize is his great taste in music and ear for hits.
