way too much. like some old ugly gal made me stand up on the bus so she could have my seat, so i said no so she got the bus driver to tell me to move, so i got off the bus and thought to myself 'you'll die soon enough fatty'.

Yes elders deserve more respect, our youth are incredibly disrespectful, when y'all a lot older you'll come to understand. I hope when I'm old I can be that wise grandfather/uncle my relatives can come for to ask for advice and comfort.

One day we will be old and we wouldn't want young people to bully us. I think we should help them when we can because they've gone through so much in life and they don't have much time left. Also, I like talking to old people because they have the best stories to tell.

Yeah, I don't get the whole "public transit courtesy" thing for the elderly either. They chose to get on this bus with the chance of either standing or sitting, like all of us, don't assume you deserve someone's seat. Unless you're physically impaired, you're not getting my seat.

I mean there are definitely some awful elderly people that are just terrible people and I don't think they should automatically get respect because of their age, but people tend to brush off the elderly as if they're not regular people like anyone else. The amount of times I've seen people blatantly ignore when an old person is talking to them or telling them a story is concerning, like they don't deserve to be listened to?

I've met so many rude elderly people who frankly don't deserve my respect. When elderly people are kind and show me respect, of course I respect them.

when the bus is crowded and they put their bags on the seat next to them..... ugh. this old guy kept chewing in my ear rlly loudly and i kept saying "you'll die soon enough fatty" but i think he was deaf so

moreover, they're priority seats for the elderly/disabled, they aren't specifically set aside for them, and i had a right to say no. like, i would let someone with a disability sit in my place but they weren't even hobbling, they were just old and entitled.
