To be honest, for the sake of efficiency, people should limit the acronym to "LGBT+" anyway. Not to contribute to the "erasure" of certain other sexuality and gender minority groups, but it becomes disgustingly impractical to continue to list every group that's distinct from the rest. The longest acronym I've seen that's even remotely acceptable is "QUILTBAG" and that's just because it's a word.

Maybe get rid of the acronym altogether and find inclusive but simple and concise terminology? But I mean, that would be the common sense thing to do, and nobody wants that!

There's nothing about sexual orientations or genders that needs to be "discovered" or "invented," and this acronym is still grossly underrepresentative of the overall community. I could list a decent number of things that aren't included, and that's just what I know.

This is why we need to drop the stupid acronym completely.

Queer just covers everything. Not everyone in the LGBT+ community fits the L,G,B, or T but they are also not straight and/or cisgendered so they belong in there as well and that's where the Q comes into play.
