What y'all don't understand is that they will release in the same month either way.

Which means they'll be compared and pitted against eachother either way.

Why on the same date ? Because that will make people talk more. Their fans will be eager, they will buy several copies just so they can win over the other one (JB/1D).

None of them will lose anyhting, one of them will come on top, but both will gain something from this and if they didn't release on the same day, they might each sell less and have less buzz etc.

It's great marketing on both sides.

1D surprise released Drag Me Down and it sold more than Bieber's single that had a month of hype, radio deals, etc. This being 1D's last album will probably make their numbers increase TBH. Someone should movie it up a week cuz the monster is being unleaded the 20th and no one stands a chance after that.
