A sale is a sale. If you want to play that game, isn't it a mess that Rihanna has yet to have a 3M selling album in the U.S. yet Mariah has like 8?
"All I Want For Christmas Is You" is a bigger global hit than anything Rihanna has ever done and it recharts globally every year. Its catalog sales are incredible and trump every pop girl hit sans :I Will Always Love You."
Mariah is a vocalist and doesn't aim to tour.

Rihanna is 27 years old, Mariah is 45. The difference between their ages is more than it took Rihanna, without streaming included, to sell around 190 million records. Are you sure she's not surpassing her at the same point?
What makes albums superior to single sales? Yes an album is priced 10x as much but, does it give the artist the same stardom, musical exposure that it's singles can? Does it reach to billions / hundreds of of millions of audiences in countless ways like singles? Isn't the singles industry even bigger than the albums industry nowadays?
Mariah can have AIWFCIY, Rihanna syill has 9 entries on the alltime UWC like an actual legend, while Mariah, at 45 years old still (most likely thanks to the US) only has 4.
May I add, Rihanna still in the end of the day has great tours and impressive global touring power, Mariah does not.
Rihanna is a global pop phenomen, Mariah is a local R&B act and that's not going to change anytime soon.
Dismissed.
