Not in the "hating or mistreating people because of their race/nationality" sense. But, being from very multicultural area, I definitely developed subconscious prejudices about groups of people based on race. I try not to treat people differently, but I do make assumptions about people (which may be right or wrong) based on race, gender, clothing style, body type, etc
re: xenophobia, I have no issue with people coming here for a better life. What I will say is, having worked around people of varying backgrounds, I do have a slight issue with people coming here and not even attempting to assimilate(?) the slightest bit. Not saying people should hold whatever they perceive as the "American" way above their original culture, but the amount of people I had to try and help who didn't speak a single word of English was incredible. What would happen if they needed medical help and no one on staff spoke whatever language they needed? If I was a politician I wouldn't FORCE people to speak any language over another, but at the same time if (when) I move to a country which has a primary language other than English, I will attempt to speak basic phrases and integrate into the society somewhat. Since this is SJWTRL I assume this statement is deeply problematic & xenophobic.
