Am I the only one that thinks that's really good for writing a song?
It's a catchy song and all but should songwriters be being paid more than teachers?

But you'd have no problem with someone who doesn't write he song and just stands there and sings (or mimes) getting paid more than teachers? The BTS work is always important. Of course they should be paid more than teachers if THEIR work is bringing in millions of dollars and they're seeing near to none of it.

For someone who writes their own songs solely and works with a producer (or even by themselves) you'd get around $1000~ for 1M streams.

You could have at least done some research before posting this. There are no "other producers" on the track. It's solely produced by Kadish and the only other writer is Meghan herself. So explain to me how 1 vocalist writing and producing her own music for 178m streams = $1.78m, but when its 1 vocalist (+ writer) and 1 writer + sole producer, he's only getting like 0.5% of that?

It does NOT matter how much he gets from sales or radio or other endorsments. They say that streaming is the future of the music industry. What happens when sales completely die out and radio is overtaken by streaming. That's the point he's making. Right now, it's ok because we have other channels but in future, it won't be that easy. You can try and blame it all on the label, and yes they take a big part in it; but at the same time they also take a big part in the physical sales too, but the artists can clearly still make money off of that. Perhaps Spotify should also take a lower cut
