she's bland as a celebrity, and when she does make headlines it's mostly negative and people get the impression that she is unlikeable
she's bland as a performer...she just stands there and sings with very little else going on, even in her most upbeat songs...the VMA performance was the biggest performance i've ever seen from her so hopefully she's improving in that aspect
her music is generic and most of it could be sung by any other pop girl. she doesn't have a distinct Demi Lovato sound. however CFTS & Confident are better than anything she's released since Unbroken so i have high hopes for this album

Demi's current image and overbearing personality is a huge turn off to the GP, Selena Gomez doesn't say much, looks cute in all her photos, and knows how to play the game MUCH better. Thus, GFY hit top 5 with zero promo besides a radio deal I'm assuming, and CTFS had endless promo and underperformed because the GP simply does not like Demi. This is not me putting her down, personally, I think she's loads more musically talented than Selena but Selena knows how to be a more appealing celebrity and that's gonna get her farther.
There is just something so unlikeable and annoying about her, all she talks about is rehab like honey we get it now let's move on. I used to Stan but from 2013 she just became so whinny and annoying. She is basic and forgettable like she tries too hard and people can see through it, the only thing she has is her voice but she's singing generic pop songs for a quick hit instead of releasing a powerful ballad to show of her voice.
I don't think there's enough promo or radio play, and tbh I think people find her boring & somewhat generic/forgettable, I haven't even listened to her music in like 2 years (besides Cool for the Summer) either but I've heard her new music is good, might have to check it out.
Cause there's no difference between her and any other basic pop singer. Sorry but that's the truth. Her personality and songs are bland and I do not understand how she got fans in the first place. It's like stanning for a Tesco cashier.
