That A- from the AV Club is not surprising. I haven't read that site in awhile, but they always score Ryan Adams high.

It's honestly a great listen and, a bit better than the original actually. Style, Bad Blood, Wildest Dreams, I Know Places, This Love and Clean sound great. Shake It Off is cool too. He ruined Out of the Woods and Blank Space though, in comparison to the 1989 version, but it's still pretty solid.
