Same. It really all depends on the context tbh. I feel the same about the n-word when used by non-blacks. Context is key. I have straight friends who have used the f-word when they weren't referring to gays, and I've had white friends call their friends "my *****". You can usually tell when someone is speaking to offend.

You'd be stupid to carry that mentality. Words can have substantial effects, such as furthering the marginalization of people or a community -- in this case, homosexual people. If you don't feel offended by this particular word then good for you, go obnoxiously celebrate that somewhere else. What's important is the social effect of what these words can deliver. I don't want this stigma around LGBT people to be accelerated by the f word, so I do care that people use it.

I would feel unwelcome, a little sad and angry too.
