Those are individual listeners though as in every person that has ever streamed or played a purchased Lana song. Not just stans, or even pop fans.
It's a slightly biased sample because a person has to have a last.fm and an interest in music to begin with, but I'd say it pretty accurately captures general popularity.
Edit: and Video Games is darn close to the other two songs being floated as signature hits here in the other metrics.

i disagree, ss is more well known and the original is probably equal in terms of quality. the remix was unfortunate but it made her more well-known in her weaker markets.
ss sold more in the us and uk than vg did in most european countries combined, has more spotify streams combined, has more last.fm listeners combined, etc.

that's my problem though, the majority of the gp who heard ss don't have last.fm, whereas i presume all the lana stans will prefer vg and thus be inclined to play it, and they'd be far more likely as stans to have it anyway.

When I look it up at Spotify, VG has more streams than SS.

signature hits arent really an artists BIGGEST hit
like for exemple you'd say that madonna's true signature hit is like a virgin, for exemple, but frozen and 4 minutes are ahead of it in sales.
video games may not be more successful than SS, but it was the song that made her the artist she is today. it launched her, and it was a time the music was changing and her she was building a name so of course SS and Y&B ended up being more successful. SS because of the dance remix for radio and Y&B because of the hype she had after making a name for herself because of video games and BTD (the album)
so im going with video games, because if that hadnt been a hit, she'd probably never gotten as big as she got.

the difference was that single sales have grown immensely over time
and off-topic id argue her signture hit is like a prayer

You can't combine the listeners for SS and the remix though. Last.fm only shows individual accounts that have streamed a song. It's very likely that a lot of the people that scrobbled the remix also scrobbled the original.
Also, I don't know if sales would to accurately represent the song (SS) in this case. Because the popular remix song is so different from the rest of her catalogue, I doubt a lot of the people who heard that song would associate it with Lana over any other random singer, knowing how misinformed the GP is, but there is no way of measuring that.
Anyway, I was just arguing that Video Games isn't some completely unknown song to the public and at least should be considered in the debate when it comes to her signature hit.

wait nnn this is true.
i still continue with my last.fm stan bias point though, and even if it is completely out there it's the song most people know of when they think of her. like, they still credit it to lana and not cedric.

Um, it went top 10 here and in a bunch of other European countries. So yes, they do.

GP knows Summertime Sadness the best, but not necessarily the remix, because for example in my country the original was played a lot on the radio, too.
