For 2011, I think it's a tie. Gaga was bigger tour-wise and influence-wise, like, c'mon, almost everyone dressed as Lady Gaga for Halloween 2011. It's laughable to read things like these without arguments. And MARIAH CAREY was the it girl of 2005, she had a massive album and a massive hit in a year dominated by men.
