You evidently did not read the Mathews case.
As well, undocumented immigrants primarily pay sales, property, and payroll taxes, not federal ones. Only property taxes pay for K-12 education, which they are entitled to.

i've actually never understood how it was possible for them to? like i thought u had to prove ur US citizenship somehow in order to be accepted into an American institution but that just goes to show how ignorant my ass was when i was signing up for this **** in the first place 75k in debt later lmao
BUT yes, education for all. many a times these students were brought into this country by their parents (seeking a better life) and all they're trying to do is continue bettering themselves. and if we can get on board with this i really think it will help to reduce some of the stigma behind immigration in the first place.... which all boils down to: all of us are immigrants at some point, and treating America like some exclusive 'members only' club just seems...... so stupid and ridiculous

And your point is? You actually answered your own question, they are paying property taxes, which funds public education, so therefore they should be entitled to.

Would love to see a use of court cases, strict or intermediate scrutiny, or even just the Constitution

What a bunch of ignorant idiots in this thread.
If they have good grades and have good test scores then why the hell not. They worked hard for that.

Property taxes don't pay for higher education. Can you read?

No, breaking the law should not be rewarded with a place at university.

I had to prove my permanent residency and then I wasn't allowed in because I wasn't a citizen. Maybe I should have applied at Harvard instead. Mess.

Mathews states that immigrants aren't entitled to all the benefits of citizenship. Education is a benefit, no?
ME: That refers to voting, not education since the majority of immigrants pay taxes and taxes fund education, they are entitled to participate.
So if you want to get specific, then go back and clarify your point.

It's a discussion question. Excuse me for prefering an actual debate over rhetoric. If I want an answer for this I'd ask a constitutional lawyer.
Have you learned the differences between state and federal taxes yet?

I'm sure the majority of them wouldn't even be able to get into the Universities that they want to crucify others for getting into on their merit.

Citizenship has more benefits than voting. Go read Mathews. It wasn't even about voting.
Maybe you should do your homework.

Yes, I know the difference pretty well. K-12 is funded by a mix of primarily local taxes, then some state funding (taxes), with random federal grants (federal taxes).
Universities are funded primarily through state taxes, with some additional federal grants.
What you're probably talking about is Federal Financial Aid, which undocumented students currently don't receive. The only receive state aid and that depends on the state they reside in.
Want to know anything else?

Property taxes don't pay for higher education though.
And the Mathews case does state that you're not entitled to something you pay taxes for, in any case.
