Okay, well here is the premise for my game:
 StuffThis is loosely based off the television show Empire.
You wanna be famous? You wanna be a star? You wanna be in movies? Drive nice cars, have groupies? Then Empire records is the place to be. We're looking for the next big thing. Someone who is original, charismatic, stylish. Do you have what it takes? If so, then sign up!
How does it work?
You will be creating your own pop star: giving her/him their own name, background info, and everything else. Musicians/actors/models are allowed to be used as facelcaims. However, anime/cartoon characters, decreased celebrities, and people over 30 and under 18 are forbidden.
Each week contestants will go through challenges that will consist of introducing your artist, photoshoots, live performances, etc. So people's writing and photoshop skills are essential to the game.
You will then be given feedback/scores by a panel of judges and the person with lowest score will be eliminated.
This game is still in the beginning stages.
I've been trying to think of ways for the game to differentiate itself from other games (mainly Create A Label). The only difference is that you can create your own popstar and this game has challenges and people will be eliminated. But I feel like there's something missing from it.

In CAL you could have (sort of) created your popstar if you wanted to as well (see Robbie/ X/O/X/O)

That seems different enough from CAL though, as far as i'm aware CAL was a bit of a free-for-all and didn't really have a challenge like structure or judges. Sounds like it would be fun.

Pokemon survivor is getting intense if anyone is looking for a non music related game 
It has a few twists and bonus editions which are pokemon themed as well so its not a standard survivor game

I think it sounds different than CAL, but I'm just a little unsure on the making a popstar but being able to use the face of one. Why not do a competition of like Battle of the Popstars in which each means signs up with musician and then they go through challenges like you mentioned. So it's like a mini combination of many different games a little, but seeing who is the better star out of the group. Who will top the billboard Hot 100 the longest, who will fall out, who will debut high then fall, etc.
