I hated it but I don't like him so that's not very surprising. I just wish another french speaking artist that is more deserving got the same attention from the GP.

Especially since he starting using subtitles after having cracked several non-French speaking markets, not before. It's not pretentious at all.
Of course he is pretentious, he always has been, that's not gonna change anytime soon.
But well, at least, it was pretty smart to use cancer for a song, perfect to bring attention.
