So, I have jury duty tomorrow for two days, 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM. I was wondering if any of the fellow sistrens on here ever had it. If so, what was it like?
You sit in a room with everyone else that has been called for jury duty until they call out your name (could be hours). When they call your name you're either sent home or get put on a case. Then they'll bring you to the courtroom where the lawyer on the case will interview the jury. The lawyer will decide if you are appropriate fit for the case. If you don't wanna serve on the jury say you'll be biased and they'll take you off the case. You'll then either return back to the waiting room until they call your name for another case, or they'll decide that you don't need to return and you'll only be there for that day.
I've only served once for 1 day cuz I said I would be biased. I was there from about 8:30-4. I wasn't tryna come back day after day to sit on the jury. If you are put on a case, you will be asked to return each day until they reach a verdict. It could be days or weeks.
I had to do jury duty last year but luckily I wasn't chosen to be involved with the case. The process was pretty simple, you'll wait in a room until they call u, if they do. You'll be grouped up with some other people. They'll ask some questions, talk about the court process, that stuff. And let's just say some people make up the most ridiculous stories as a way to not be considered for trial.

I was requested but I lived in a diff. city for school so they had to find someone else. Thank the Lord. But then they tried to get me to do jury duty in the city that I lived in a mess.
ooo girl good luck with that. my mom told me that if they ever called me/sent me mail about jury duty, that I should just ignore it because if I respond they'll make me go

I had Jury Duty last year in February. We had to sit in this auditorium-like room as we awaited the moment we would be assigned to a courtroom. We were there for about 2-3 hours before being allowed a lunch break. After the lunch break, we had to return to the same room, sat in there for another hour or so, only to then find out we weren't needed at all

Don't you get fined for that?
I got summoned once but I told them I couldn't go because I had no transportation.
if I ever were I would want it to be for like a murder case or something interesting. but then I think you're not allowed to talk about what goes on in the court proceedings
