Madonna'd been around since 1983, Mariah since 1990. Obviously Madonna's career will be bigger (13 years vs 6).
In 6 years, Mariah was able to tie Madonna's #1s, had become a more respected artist and her legacy remains untouched to this day (Her being a fabulous and talented vocalist). It's no surprise she's such a streaming force today, that her classics are still being streamed a lot, etc. Truly a legend
