(UPI) - Conrad Murray, the late U.S. singer Michael Jackson's personal doctor, is to be charged with manslaughter, a law enforcement source told FOXNews.com.
Jackson died of cardiac arrest June 25 at the age of 50. Officials have not yet disclosed the cause of his death. Murray reportedly has been under investigation for allegedly administering anesthesia to Jackson in the pop icon's home on a regular basis to help him sleep.
FOXNews.com said evidence is still being gathered, but Murray's arrest is expected to take place in about two weeks.
Jackson's longtime dermatologist, Dr. Arnold Klein, is also said to be looking at charges related to medical malpractice and his arrest might also come in early September, the source told the news outlet.
However, Jane Robison, spokeswoman for the Los Angeles County District Attorney's office, dismissed the report as premature.
"Until police complete their investigation and bring it to our office, there is no way to know what charges may be filed and against whom," Robison told FOXNews.com.
Stupid idea. Even if he decided not to give him the drugs, Michael would have found a way.
That was a stupid post.
If you're the enabler, then you must face the consequences. It doesn't matter if he could have got the anesthesia from someone else, the law of common sense doesn't work that way.
I wish Michael could've just gone peacefully, like he would've wanted, without all this extra business coming out in the media. But I guess they're just doing their job.
