But Cher shouldn't sell herself short as she too, impacted the music industry in a gargantuan way with auto-tune.
I live for Queen Cher and she is right. Madonna has had a 30 year career with super highs and even her lows were kinda iconic. Cher has had crashing lows with highs in between. I mean she had times when her albums peaked outside the top100 - but she always managed to come back.
I always think that, for most of the 80s, Cher faded from public view because she wasn't recording as much. Then I remember she was actually winning awards for her acting and becoming a genuine movie star.
Well yeah it's technically much bigger than hers but interestingly she's so respected in the industry that most people don't even take notice of that, they still put her in the same league
