Not only did I get approval from jax. himself, but the mods thought one of my posts was worthy enough of a WP because they thought I was being genuine. While I didn't get to pretend to be someone as iconic as Cher or Joan Rivers, this was social experiment allowed me to be someone else. That said, I have a newfound appreciation for jax., whether he likes me or not.  |

I actually made Thread #2 first and if you look through the pages, almost everyone mistook me for D.M.F. This even happened in another thread. Just like I can act as many different personalities, Legend X can cover many different genres unlike other pop girls. Singers like Britney Spears and Lady Gaga only do dance-pop while Legend X has done pop, jazz, country, gospel, death metal, Poland, Asia, Grammys, and even black.
In addition I made a few posts as D.M.F in other threads, just as LX sings in other people's songs and immediately makes them better.

PhreshDiamond is a notorious Weezing and Rihanna stan, becoming one of ATRL's most well known posters since joining in 2013. To fully get into character, I changed all of my information to information that either exactly or closely mirrored Phresh's. I fully enjoyed using his nonsensical, almost troll like posting style of Phresh's during my time as him. I began the Snatch Game with a perfect imitation of the member I played as: I orchestrated a move that would draw attention to myself. I first pretended I was going to play as Tymps., waited until everyone chose their characters, then announced that after some reflection, I decided to play as X/O/X/O. As the Drag Race thread will show, making some major announcement is a common move Miss XO employs in order to keep us talking about her. (And it works! Smart girl!)
I then imitated XO's patronizing tone and verbosity with my second post, a lengthy response to Sam's comment about how to play the game. XO is quick to share advice in the thread, though she often masks her pomposity with feigned uncertainty, humble bragging, and subtle allusions to other queens/judges, we know that XO really just wants us all to hear her talk. I think I captured that tone well... for 870 words.
My third post was a direct parody of one of XO's posts, seen here. I imitated that with a post of my own, though I didn't simply copy it, but added a humorous twist to make it stand out. A good Snatch Game performance doesn't excel through simply mimicry, but through a mix of spot-on imitation and exaggerated caricature.
To top things off, I made my entry into a PowerPoint presentation, of course paying homage to XO's iconic script used for the Untucked challenge last week.
Aesthetically, I adopted a reverse image of XO's AVI:
And also parodied her custom title (|ᴄʜᴀɴᴇʟ x ᴄʜᴀɴᴇʟ x ᴄʜᴀɴᴇʟ|) with my own (Chanel ☽ Ch@n3L ☾ Lenahc).
From my much-lauded imitation of X/O/X/O’s tone in my posts, to my use of Emma Roberts GIFs (mostly from Scream Queens, but one from AHS: Coven, since my research in the AHS thread taught me that Coven is XO’s 2nd fave season), to the many minor details of XO’s Drag Race history I incorporated into my entry (i.e. talking to people in PMs, almost quitting, obsessing over wins, etc.), I believe I had a strong showing the Snatch Game and hope you agree! |
