Ok I think i'm going to go with this as the last 4 after collecting opinions from this thread, pokemon showdown and the pokemon thread.

literally removed him to get it down to 40. maybe replace ampharos for ha. (or Crobat)

Onix is the first boss pokemon you fight in the games and has been a staple of Brock's team in the anime. Victreebel deserves far less than Onix considering she's only known for the anime (and kween Erika is forgotten)

But don't forget that alot of people didn't play/ start with the games and simply watched/ started with the anime and Victreebel ha running gags are iconic

My reasoning for those 3:

Corsola - Misty's most iconic Johto pokemon and called upon very often since then
Quagsire - first water pokemon to have the electric immunity and has had roles in many side-games since, i.e. Gates to Infinity
Delibird - santa pokemon

Kinda agree on Delibird. Remove ha for Drizzletoad.

True but victreebel is also kinda forgotten about because all of James' grass type pokemon started attacking him since; Cacnea, Carnivine etc.

Cacnea should be in Gen3's list tbh

But if we're going with the anime, Machamp had virtually no presence there at all. Not to mention the Crystal Onix.

Phresh needed a hetero fighting type. And Machamp is the best choice for that
