What backlash did ARTPOP have outside stan culture? It's not like it was a Bangerz type of situation where Gaga was hated--she just wasn't popular. Popularity does not influence critics. PRISM was seen as growth for Katy critically

Both Artpop and Prism are more acclaimed than anything from Christina and Britney since 2006 and 2011 respectively. Try again pressed flop and buy another flop feat X on iTunes.

None was even remotely close to being acclaimed but PRISM was seen as an improvement from the critically panned Teenage Dream while ARTPOP was seen as a huge step down from the critically embraced BTW/TFM. So basically, Katy's best = Gaga's worst
