It wouldn't call it the most acclaimed, but it definitely brought light the JRPG genre in America

It can be a bestseller and really acclaimed, but it doesn't touch the level of mastery found in Vagrant Story or Final Fantasy IX. Those are true masterpieces by Square.
Star Ocean 2nd Story and Valkyrie Profile are two amazing gems by Enix.

I love P3 but nah it had the worst dungeon crawling in a JRPG let alone the whole series.
And the tarot cards generated terribly after battles.
VII is overrated but you can't deny its impact and getting an entire generation into JRPGs.
