If I switch on a torch in your direction, the light doesn't immediately lighten you up. It would take some time before the light reaches you. Similarly, if you are at the top of a building and I scream your name from the bottom, you will see my mouth move before you can hear your name.
The same principle applies to Earth and its surroundings. If Earth was only 6000 years old, we would only be able to see stars that are 6000 light years in distance from us because it would take that much time for the light from those stars to reach us. Considering that our galaxy alone is about 100,000 light years across, and we have seen stars and galaxies that are way farther from us, we deduce that Earth or the Universe cannot be 6000 years old. Light from galaxies that are billion of light years away must have traveled billion of years to have reached us. But how can light have traveled billion of years if the Universe is only 6000 years old.
Pushing the speed of light aside, and focusing on our planet only, we have unearthed many fossils or artifacts that date more than 6000 years. Places such like deserts, valleys or mountains have been studied and it has been found that they are the result of events that happened billion of years ago. If they were a product of something that happened 6000 years ago, they would not have been the way that they are today.
It is a fact that we will end in heat and fire, when the Sun will reach its final stages. Mankind will end, but the Earth will end much later on. After us, there may even be other species before the Earth goes extinct. This is the only known apocalypse. It will come in billion of years, so don't worry about that since you will not live - nor reborn - to see it. How do you get a place in heaven? Heaven does not exist so you cannot get a place there. You can however make this planet your paradise and live happily here while you still can.
