To be fair, they're pretty much all reserved for murderers/rapists/other scum. Think of it this way:

Lets say a man rapes and murders Katy Perry. He's put on trial, but exonerated for his crimes. Now that he got away with it, he plans to continue this trend and is going to rape and murder Britney, Christina, and Ariana next. As he's leaving the court house, a lightning bolt hits and kills the guy. How would you feel? The cases you talk about are basically that on a wider scale. Divine retribution/intervention against evil, unrepentant people who are otherwise getting away with said evil.

I mean.. I wouldn't say I jump for joy at those parts of the bible, but I do get it and basically respond along the lines of "Well, not feeling sympathy for you."


They're also pro-abstinence, meaning the AIDs won't be spreading period EXCEPT between married couples (and even then... only if you've broken the no abstinence rule before hand )

No. Criticizing a religion's teachings is not being a discriminatory. He's not saying death to Muslims, discriminate against Muslims, stop Muslims, ban Muslims from public places, victim blame Muslims during rape cases, or anything of the like. Just that he, personally, feels Islam has a lot of objectionable beliefs that he's against. That's not discrimination, it's giving your opinion on the teachings of a religion.

that was not a viable solution had they not been creepily obsessed with controlling everyone's sex lives they could have promoted a healthy attitude to sex. instead, they decided to appeal to the weird sex laws as defined by their religion, failed to address the problem and were complicit to the epidemic. it's disgusting.

one thing i've always hated about religion is how weirdly obsessed it is about sex and how much it wants to invade other people's bedrooms.

edit: oh, and it's not only this but they spread LIES about the effectiveness of the condom. i.e. they lied so people would follow their backwards rules even if it were at the cost of millions of aids orphans

If there were no religions, then there wouldn't exist the danger that even a small percentage of the followers would interpret the religion in a harmful way. So we'd be better off without religions.

As long as people don't force it onto others, or use their religion to be ignorant or harm people, I don't have a problem with any religion. Unfortunately that's what happens in most of them.

I do wish more people would be atheist, but they can believe what they want to believe I guess.

I've already explained what the official Catholic teaching and stance on LGBT rights earlier in the thread (it's actually pretty agreeable. It's literally "We don't agree with homosexuality morally, but you have to treat them with respect and they deserve the same legal rights." So, again, anyone who breaks from that isn't really following the Catholic belief.

The birth control stuff is another I disagree with, but they do promote and support abstinence. It's not like they're ordering girls to have sex and risk getting pregnant regularly.
