Although The Perfect Guy will probably be #1 at the box office, Shayamalan's new film The Visit is pulling solid numbers. A 8+ million Friday debut on a $5 million budget. Looks like his curse had finally been broken, it's also fresh on RT.

I'm so surprised. I wasn't sold on the trailers.

It looks awful and predictable. Then again, The Conjuring or whatever that was got great reviews and great scores and it was awful.

Not bad at all. Fun movie with a good twist.

It's supposed to be humorous as well so it's probably not that scary.

I feel like most people are going to see it because they think it looks more funny than scary and they want to make fun of it. but good for ha either way, lord knows he's needed any type of success for a long time

Oh **** I saw this trailer when I went to see another movie and didn't even notice it was Shyamalan. I thought it looked really good. Definitely gonna go see it now.

He also made The Sixth sense, Signs and The Village...

It's your opinion if you think The Conjuring was awful, I loved it and have seen it 3 times.

I saw The Visit earlier today. It was ooooooooooooooooooookay, I guess. It had some really creepy moments, and the concept is really good, but it could have been executed so much better. Biggest issue is by far the pacing. It just takes so long for the plot to get moving. For a good majority of the film there's only the occasional scare. It just moved way too slow. The twist is also obvious, and honestly it shouldn't have even been a twist. Revealing it right up front could've been used to help the pacing tremendously and set up a lot more tension. The rapping scenes were also painfully stupid.

It is overall okay, and it's probably M. Night's best movie in over a decade (cause that's saying a whole lot Wasn't his last not-bad movie Unbreakable? I know Signs had a few fans but). It's just disappointing because it could've been really good, but it just feels like a lot of wasted potential.
