Max Martin re invented Pop music. He helped creating a completely new wave of bands/artists whom, at the time, were the hottest thing around. He has some classic productions under his belt. I agree about Dr. Luke though, he's overrated, IMO.
Being an aspiring music producer myself, my biggest inspirations would have to be Ryan Tedder, Timblanad, Tricky Stewart, Danja, Polow Da Don, Max Martin and probably my current favorite, DARKCHILD!!!!
