The TV show is made for the masses. I suppose it is excusable that it panders so much. If the writers of the Telltale games wrote the show, they would constantly be getting complaints of the show wasting time on character development and believable scenarios in favor of shock value and gore.

I haven't watched The Walking Dead and don't even wanna try judging by what I've heard about it but the game still has a lot of character development so I still think that kind of TV show would work on cable. Oh well, we still have the game but 5 episodes per 2 years is not IT
