I do agree with you, but the show is heavily edited. And a lot goes on in the casting side of things than we get to see. So she may not be talking about just laughing at bad singers, but other things that might have come between picking from one singer to another.

Ellen is too nice to be a judge. It was obvious that she was so uncomfortable on the panel.

She made some hilarious comments, I thought she was really funny on it. But I completely understand her, she's not the kind of person who is good at rejecting people...that must have been really hard for her.

It seems to me like the whole "I'm not comfortable judging people" thing is just something your PR people would tell you to say. The truth was probably that she didn't like how the show was being run in some form, and she quickly felt out of place on the panel. Which, clearly she was from the get-go.

I don't know what anyone was thinking with that decision. They should have chosen Queen Latifah instead.
