Right, its about putting the selfishness away for a few minutes (and the thirst too) and realizing rationally it just won't work. 17-18 year olds need to experience the freedom of post grad just like you did. Being in a committed relationship that early can be detrimental.
I did however have a friend (25)who married her husband(38) this past year. They met when she was 17 and he was 30
