sometimes, the truth hurts. Instead of pointing out why pop fans are open minded, you guys are just pointing fingers at fans of other genres and calling them closed minded.
Nope. The vast majority of classical music fans are INCREDIBLY close minded. I know a person who said the last good song was released in 2006. In any genre.
I hope no one is vexed by this study. ATRL more than adequately validates the study
I'm originally a Rock, Underground & Indie fan who transitioned into POP. Guess that explains it xD
Ya'll are in denial. Indie music fans are way more open minded than pop fans. Pop fans don't try to branch out and find new things. They just listen to what's given to them by mass media.
Basically this. That's why you see so many on here saying "I never heard of X artist" or "Y artist isn't played in my country." That's because they rely on radio and television to provide them with music. And as we know radio only plays who is popular at the moment. Pop fans aren't as receptive as Indie/Rock fans to venture out and discover music on their own. Everything is about charts, billboard and what's hot at the moment with pop fans. I mean just look at the how many pages Itunes and Billboard threads get on here. You'd never see that with Indie/Rock fans. It's more about the music and quality than where it charts.
