Tbh when the cashier is a dick on purpose and gives you a load of 1p's and 2p's when they could easily give you 20s and 50s I find it hard to accept

Yeah. Like for example I work in retail but because of my contract I can be moved between different stores with little notice and with no say in the matter, so I'm constantly having to adjust to different workplaces and routines and working with new people. every few months.
