A New Jersey woman is reportedly suing Justin Bieber after she said she tripped and fell on a loose cord at one of his concerts. But the Canadian crooner's lawyers deny in court papers that Sandy Ricketts' injuries at a 2013 "Believe" tour in Philadelphia were his fault, according to TMZ.
The gossip site reported that the Biebs' attorneys are trying to get the case thrown out, arguing that if she fell, it was her own fault, and that the tickets warned concert-goers that they assumed any risk. Bieber, 21, is the singer of such hits as "Beauty and a Beast" and "One Less Lonely Girl." It's not clear where in New Jersey Ricketts lives.
Ricketts is seeking $50,000 after breaking a shoulder, several teeth and splitting a lip so severely it required surgery. The wires, the report said, were strung across a walkway.
Tripping is her own fault. Finally something Bieber isn't responsible for. The tech who laid the wire would be the most likely person to be blamed, but did she think she was going to a concert where music was projected through the air by the miracle of solar power or something?
