Ellie is a strange case. She's had more success with her singles than an artist like Selena but generally sells less albums and could not go on an arena tour of the US right now. She's similar to Kesha, though I think she could do huge numbers with her 3rd album this winter in the states.

She couldn't do a US arena tour because she still hasn't had a full fledged era here yet, she's had 4 solo US singles in 4 years, and 2 featured singles. She's received spotty US push at best. With the next album given that it looks like it will have more than 1 US single, she could prove herself to be a "main pop girl."
