Thrift Shop radio edit is so tragic.
"Walk up to the club like what up I got a big [rooster noise]"
"Probably shoulda washed this, smells like [silence]."
And Ke$ha's Your Love is My Drug they censor "crackhead" but not the word "drug"
I remember being surprised when "Same Love" was popular and the f-word (gay slur) was censored on every station I heard it on. Given the context of the line it was in, it should have been left intact.
I remember listening to Lana's High By The Beach and hearing the words bulls*** and motherf***** being censored as expected, it was so awkward the way it was censored, it was just silence, why not just have the first part of the word play and block out the offending swear word instead of just blanking the first part of the word? I suppose all radio stations do this.
I always thought it was odd that they censored "you the hottest bitch in this place" to "you the hottest HOE! in this place" from Blurred Lines. It almost sounds worse because of the intensity in which he says it... why couldn't they just have made it "chick" instead?
