Snowpiercer is actual garbage

In all honesty, most of the acclaimed / successful films of the past few years have been lacklustre in my opinion

Out of all the suggestions so far, Juno is the only one worth spending 2 hours on.

Watch all the Studio Ghibli films, I recommend Grave of the Fireflies, The Wind Rises, Kiki Delivery Service, My Neighbor Totoro and Howl's Moving Castle

Other then that my favorites are:
