It really varies. Sometimes you really want that person to cuddle up with, tell dumb stuff to and watch Netflix with and other times I think being single is great. I don't have anyone to answer to, I can do what I want when I go out and it means more time with friends. I guess I would like a bf but it would have to be someone really special. I refuse to settle just so I'm not alone.

You are deciding to feel lovelorn and sad over an idea about someone. Stop that wishful thinking, realise that idea is literally just an IDEA and learn to be content with yourself. You'll meet somebody soon enough, so in the meantime stop hopelessly dreaming and choosing to make yourself feel sad over your own ideas.

These.
People on this site don't realise how young they are. I'm 23 which makes me one of the older members here and even I can recognise that I'm still so young. Have fun, make new friends, make mistakes, figure out who you are, figure out who you're not and date multiple people but don't start daydreaming about a relationship with them from the first date if you didn't really click or feel something. Often people fall in love with the idea of love more than the actual person. Especially people who've never been in a relationship before. For a lot of people, that's not true. Their first relationships will be genuine love. But for a lot of others, they'll force it when it's clearly not working, until they can no longer force it. It's when you get in to one of these relationships where you just go "you know what, I'm perfectly content being single, young and making friends." Plus internet ****ography is so accessible nowadays that even if you're not in a relationship or you're not the hook-up type, you can take care of your bodies' needs until the right person comes along.
I kind of think that's the mentality Taylor Swift got in to while writing 1989. She spoke about it a lot. Being content with being single, that is. Not taking care of her needs by watching **** lmao.
