Go Kart Racing or Indoor Sky Diving. Something fun. It's always great to see someone smile and really have fun doing something out of tha norm on tha first date. Movies down tha line once you've gone on a few dates
I'd go to a wine / cocktail bar or something, it's much less formal than a restaruant. Therefore the whole date will be more laid-back, which makes it easier for both of you to get to know each other better.
I wouldn't go to the movies for a first date, as it basically means two hours of silence next to each other, while actually you're there to get to know him. It's fine for later dates, though.
i like going to the movies. also get something to eat afterwards. so if it's awkward you can always talk about the movie

I'm a fan of movie dates for this exact reason. Seeing the movie BEFORE the dinner/drinks means there's something to spark conversation, especially if you're on a date with someone you don't already know beforehand. And go for a comedy or a thriller, nothing too serious. That way you can exchange flirty glances while sharing laughs or snuggle in close if you get "scared".
Go out, but not somewhere fancy - just for a drink. You can begin to get to know each other, and do something after if it's going well, or just end it if it's not.
It's fine for later dates, though.
