Still unsure about the display. 4k is overkill.

I don't want the Premium just the normal Z5.

So now my choices:

Sis better wait for Iphone 6s announcement. I want to upgrade soon as well so if 6s is lackluster I'll definitely get the Z5 premium.

Right now I'm choosing between Z5 premium and s6 edge plus but after reading that Z5 automatically upscales whatever video you watch to 4k quality, I'm giving it an advantage here.




The camera is perhaps the best feature here, moreso than the 4k display. In Z3 the sensor is 20.7 MP but it is only usable at Manual mode and at a 4:3 aspect ratio, with the Superior auto mode set at only 8MP.

In Z5 series, you are able to take pictures at FULL 23 MP quality in both manual AND auto mode. This is a massive upgrade.

I like the S6 Edges but I'm scared to shatter it and it'll be awkward to hold.

Loving smartphone season! 4K is overkill, I don't think I could justify buying the Z5. But I want to hear more about the normal Z5 & the Xperia M5. The Xperia line's image processing has always been abysmal, pretty tragic considering Sony makes amazing camera sensors. Hopefully they've improved upon it finally.

Another exciting smartphone is the Blackberry Venice... Android slider w/ physical keyboard and 18mp camera? I can't wait for more details. I'm almost 99% sure from what's been leaked so far that it'll be my next phone.

Probably saying goodbye to Windows Phone... we should revive the Smartphones thread. I'm already off contract but I'm just waiting for all the announcements to end, haha.

If nothing else exciting gets announced/Sony drops the ball on processing, I'll get a LG G4.

Retina Display seems pretty LQ once you use 1080p and above. Trust me, the difference is MASSIVE.
That said, anything above 400ppi is imperceptible.

SONY are dumb. No one needs 4K on a phone (and they should focus on making better camera software and a decent UI). Their phones are bland as HELL too

The high pixel density makes sense when viewing high res photos or 4k videos. both possible with the 23 mp camera. It also has the ability to upscale content from any media and reproduce the pixels to 4k (as claimed by Sony).

That's not too bad. I paid $750 for my Galaxy S5.

Just saw Iphone 6s and was left unimpressed. Z5 it is for me.

I'm interested in the Z5 compact but of course, they already announced it's not coming to Canada, sob.
