I feel like we are at a point to where we have to be politically correct and have to keep track of everything we say 24/7. I am EXTREMELY supportive of trans people, but a lot of people are not, and the fact that it's become this huge thing in the media, is amazing. People are now finally getting what it is, and all the terms and things, but occasionally people will slip up and accidentally say "he" instead of "She" because A) they aren't used to it or B) they just slip, and then they are put on blast.

Same with other minorities, and things. I feel from my experience, if a black person were to say "that white guy is so dumb" no one would say anything, but if a white guy was to say "that black guy is so dumb" they are instantly called a racist and so on.

Do you see what I mean in a sense? Or am I just bored and reaching? I am not racist nor transphobic, but I feel like we are too sensitive of people who are unacknowledged or just aren't used to trans or other minorities. If someone is obviously being racist or homophobic or transphobic, you have a right to get angry, but if they are just slipping on a term they don't mean or understand, why do we get so angry? We should be teaching them what these things mean instead of outright attacking them.

I guess my final question is.. are we as a society very sensitive when it comes to things like that?

Nope, society is quite insensitive. It seems like it's sensitive but don't let the few vocal activists deceive you, they're in the minority. It's a harsh world.

From my experience on the internet, I think that Americans are way too sensitive on certain topics (for example racism), while in my country (which is full of racists) social matters are barely discussed.

I was watching a video and it was talking about this, if you disagree please give a real reason why you disagree and not just blatantly saying i'm wrong

I'm speaking for the people say who live in New Mexico who have never even heard of trans-gendered before, and are accepting, but slip up on accident then get attacked.

Everyone's calling the OP pointed and acting as if their tone is off. There's nothing wrong with the way they're speaking. They are being perfectly reasonable and bringing up a valid point. Political correctness is going too far to the point where we can't (and don't care to) distinguish between innocent people and genuinely prejudiced people.

In same cases yes people can be too sensitive over issues that seem insignificant, but as a whole the world can be pretty intolerant and that is why we have such high poverty, crime-rates, hunger, wars, etc.

After atrl's gang of heroes decided to invade my discussion the other night regarding the singing-a-long use of the n-word, I decided to ask every single mother****ing black person I know, including neighbours, their family and friends. Like, everyone.

Not one of them said they'd be a offended if I was singing the n word.

I learnt, once again, not to listen to these trolls and it's likely that they're brought up in a less civilised society than I.

I can only hope that life gets better for them, and in general, all people that are easily offended by such matters.
