How they teach it in American schools:
Australia refers to both the country and the continental landmass of the country. Technically speaking the Pacific islands aren't part of the continent since they are islands.
How they teach it elsewhere(?):
Oceania refers to the continent, but continent doesn't mean big landmass but rather region of the world. It includes Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific islands.
Australasia would mean Oceania plus Indonesia I guess.
