And like I said to the other poster what makes you think this won't happen in the future, just because you haven't heard about it. Using the "it hasn't happened so far" argument isn't going to make me or any other cis-woman feel any safer.

What's your point tho? Men can already enter a female bathroom with a gun, and kidnap and rape whomever he wanted.
Men can also do that in the street, in the office, and even in your own house. So don't use the "I don't feel safe" excuse because, technically, you're not safe anywhere darling.

We should be discussing why we are allowing impressionable confused children to transition in the 1st place. That is more concerning.

LOL at this. All anyone has to do is go the school the next day and decide they are transgender and use the bathroom. No one is born that way, you come to the realization, usually around that age. This notion it takes a lifetime of faking is bogus.

also, being trans isn't always about passing to look conventionally feminine
womanhood is not confined to lipstick and heels

In this current world. She wants to shower in an open space with biological girls who have expressed their discomfort with an individual who has a penis. You cannot deny the feelings of a majority of girls who have no choice but to use those facilities since it is a school they are required to be in. They can't just leave and go somewhere else.

Oh really? Hmm that's trickier then.
In regards to the poll and her previously using a unisex bathroom I assumed it was just about using the bathroom, rather than a locker room/shower setting, since unisex locker rooms and showers aren't a thing in schools.

not true
legally, to be considered transgender, you need doctor's approval. and i'm not buying that most schools won't check when most schools ask for doctor's notes for simple things like absences and skipping gym

No, it's not the way it is.
That's the way it is to ignorant people.
You don't get to decide someone's gender. You don't speak for all the transgenders in the world. You're not that important.

Ok that is an (expensive) idea x
but this girl has access to a gender neutral bathroom & is refusing to use it, so how effective are they anyway? What's the point of making gender neutral bathrooms if (trans) people refuse to use them?

But Lila is a woman too so you're agreeing with me? She can't just leave and go somewhere else.

Pretty sure you need a doctors note at the very least.
American schools are reluctant as it is recognise and accommodate legitimate trans student. As if they'd let Billy who has been macho male throughout 5 grades enter a girls bathroom on a whim.
It doesn't take a lifetime but it will take commitment.

it's not necessarily a matter of "choosing," a way to be
I wouldn't argue that trans people feel as if they have a choice to be trans
they're just being who they are

Most schools do not check for that. Why would they, unless someone brought a situation like this up? It's not required at enrollment to inform the school of your gender identity. Whether you are legally transgender or not is irrelevant.

Lila can use a uni-sex bathroom because she still has a penis and still produces a large amount of testosterone.
