Yes, though I don't really see the big problem in using unisex stalls. Now that I think of it though; I guess it's because it makes her feel like she isn't female enough to use the girls bathroom which she shouldn't feel. It's kinda making her something inbetween which she isn't.

how can you just pretend to be transgender? to get hormones and transition, you have to see a doctor and go through psychological evaluation. you can't just start dressing differently

besides, trans people already use bathrooms of the gender they transition into and so far no stories about dirty/twisted men faking it to take advantage of it... unless you've heard otherwise other than scare tactics and paranoia

Girl I know I am gay since the age of 3. If I can gather this knowledge about myself, I'm fairly sure someone could gather it about their own (and not yours) gender in their teens and even before.

I don't believe that..they identify as a woman so I don't think they would try to harm cis-women..that goes against everything they stand for..

I mean, a girls bathroom literally has all stalls. I don't see how someone with a penis, but who is trans and identifies as female, going into a locked stall to use the bathroom causes anyone any harm. It's not like they are going around the bathroom exposing themselves to anyone in there etc.

And death at the "straight boys will wear a wig and take advantage" – No. If a male student did that, everyone girl in that bathroom would say get out, as everyone would know he was "joking", he'd probably get reported and even suspended for going in and mocking trans people...

This is exactly the problem. Just because something hasn't happened already, or at least hasn't been reported how are do you know something won't happen in the future.

That's like saying just because I don't lock my door at night and someone hasn't robbed my house so far, means I don't need to start locking it just in case someone does come in a rob me. Planning ahead before something happens makes all the difference.

For peeing, pooping etc., I definitely think the girls bathroom should be open to her. For showering I'm not so sure.

Can you at least let cis girls speak for themselves? Myself and ATRL member 'Sasha' both show we would be okay with that. I'm not scared of a penis and I know any transgender female with a penis doesn't choose to have a penis, so why should I judge them? They go through enough **** everyday, the least I can do is not immaturely react when they're in the showers with me. What next? Should the transgender female shower with men? Is that a better solution? Or segregate them from everyone else and let them shower alone? If anything, the transgender should decide what she wants to do. Because they're in the situation.
This is the EXACT same of a straight male saying gay males shouldn't shower with them because they'd feel 'uncomfortable'.

Please answer this question. Being transgender at school is not fun or trendy and almost anywhere you would get bullied. How many people do you think would live their whole lives in high school pretending to be transgender just to sneak into the girl's bathroom when, in the event no one's looking, nothing's stopping them from going in already?

Yes. It's more disruptive and possibly dangerous to have someone that identifies as and has begun changing their appearance to match their identify to be forced to use gender specific bathrooms according to their biological gender, honestly.

Honestly at first it was kind of difficult to wrap my head around the notion because of my own lack of understanding and familiarity with the issue -- I was on the side of people that pushed gender neutral restrooms for trans people, but that's a very dangerous separatist mindset that needlessly singles people out and I had to check myself because it's just wrong. The arguments that support it (perverts under the guise of being trans women trying to sneak into women's restrooms, for instance) really aren't even an issue -- no boy is going to change his entire existence for the sake of being able to go into the girls' bathrooms and see nothing but stalls and tampon dispensers and any man that dresses up in a wig and wants to go into a bathroom isn't going to be stopped by a damn sign, even now and even so, that has nothing to do with the rights of trans women to use bathrooms specified for their identified gender.

I guess it depends on whether bathrooms are distinguished by sex or gender. Yes she is a female by gender, but anatomically her sex is (still) male. I can't give an answer to the question tbh. If it's a locker room then that's an even bigger question mark.
