One has allowed for great feats to take place such as aviation, space travel, instant long distance communication, elongation of the human lifespan by more than double, and many more things that would seem like magic to people from past.
And the other has greatly dictated human behavior throughout history, has caused many wars, has kept many people from stealing, lying, cheating, etc. Throughout thousands of years no one could go a day without thinking about God whether they believed in him or not. And even today, many(if not most) political leaders base their decisions in accordance to their faith.
In the Western countries science has been more important than religion ever since the 19th century. Even in religious / Islamic countries science is so integrated into daily life that I'd say it's more important.
I cannot decide Even though I don't necessarily believe in God, I still think both religion and science have equal impact to human civilization and society as a whole
It's surprisingly quite a difficult choice but I did vote science. You could argue religion has lots of impact as it was the driving force of society for thousands of years however on the other hand advances in scientific understanding have enabled incredible things to be made and discovered that have benefited everyone's lives in some form, and with huge advancements in a very short space of time.
Science will go far and it will guide us to the future where religion will be long gone by then.
People are starting to get less religious from time to time but will never less into science.
But for real science is slowly taking over, if it doesn't make any mistake in the upcoming years, it will surely replace Religion by ease. People already started being religionless. Long live illuminati, tbh.
Religion created civilizations which paved the way to the creation and development of the arts and sciences. In fact, there was a period in history when people used to consider theology as the queen of the sciences. It was the standard in which all other disciplines had to abide.
But science is arguably more important, though, in the modern period as the mankind's predominant worldview has now generally shifted shifted from spiritualism to materialism. Most people can now live without religion. No one can live without science even the religious.
